About Me

Welcome to "Next Door Naber!" I began this blog as "Accidental Real Housewife of Dublin." As you can probably guess, I'm married and was living in Dublin, Ireland (and moved there without a job, hence the former "accidental" housewife name). I now reside in Singapore and, while I'm not exactly "next door" to many, I'm definitely a Naber (my married name).

My blog covers everyday life in Dublin Sydney Singapore, our travels, and all the various exciting and challenging aspects of moving to another country.

Why Ireland, Australia, and Singapore?
In January 2012, my boyfriend of 4 years received an amazing job opportunity and a reason for us to move to Europe and travel (twist my arm!), so we decided to go for it! In the next 2 months, we got engaged, then married, moved our life into storage, said goodbye to our family and friends, and moved to Dublin a week after tying the knot. Why not pack almost every major life change into 8 weeks, right?

We got married in a small ceremony and celebrated a wonderful St. Paddy's Day with family. As crazy as it sounds, it was perfect and made the first of our many great stories to tell!

We packed our lives into a "few" suitcases and said goodbye to Chi Town and life as we knew it.

After 16 months, 23 European trips, 1,000 mm of rain, and countless pints of Guinness, we picked up and moved again - next time to the land of Oz.

After 3 years in what became my favorite city, approximately 30 trips, hundreds of coffees and coastal walks, and seemingly endless sunshine, we changed it up and moved once more to Singapore in 2016. We've been living internationally for 5 years and counting...

To my friends and family, this is a great way to keep up on our lives!! I also love meeting new people and finding new blogs, so please leave me a comment and I would be happy to get to know you!

    1. Yeah, quite the whirlwind! We've been together a while, so the marriage part wasn't as nuts, but combined with everything else, it was pretty crazy! I'm liking it so far -- there have been some obstacles with getting a work permit -- otherwise, it's been great! Being able to travel is a nice perk, which I see you've done a lot of too!
